Velocity-Time Graphs

1. Constant Positive Velocity

A horizontal line above the time axis represents constant positive velocity — the object is moving at a steady speed.

2. Constant Negative Velocity

A horizontal line below the time axis shows constant negative velocity — steady motion in the opposite direction.

3. Positive Acceleration

A line sloping upward from left to right indicates increasing velocity — the object is speeding up.

4. Negative Acceleration (Deceleration)

A line sloping downward indicates decreasing velocity — the object is slowing down, then reaches 0, then accelerates in the opposite direction.
